Evening routines

Make comfort easier before bedtime starts.

A good routine does not need to be complicated. The best routines remove small annoyances before you are tired: temperature, light, noise, bedding, and tomorrow-morning friction.

The room should be ready before you are

Many bedtime frustrations happen because the room is not ready: the bed is messy, the light is harsh, the room is warm, or the pillow is in the wrong place. A routine gives you a repeatable reset.

Keep it boring on purpose

The routine should be easy enough to repeat. If it needs special equipment, a long checklist, or perfect timing, it probably will not last. Think: adjust the room, tidy the bed, reduce bright light, set up water or a book, and leave the space ready.
